Role Purpose

The HSEW Officer ensures all construction site activities comply with HSE guidelines, project safety plans, and legal requirements, with a focus on preventing incidents and maintaining safe working conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Site Inspections & Compliance

• Conduct daily HSE inspections of road projects, work zones, and equipment.
• Verify compliance with traffic management measures and safe movement of vehicles and machinery.
• Monitor implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.

Hazard Management & Corrective Action

• Identify hazards and unsafe practices; issue corrective actions and follow up.
• Ensure workers use proper PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations.

Safety Communication & Engagement

• Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Support emergency preparedness and drills.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain safety logs, daily reports, and audit documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Engineering or Occupational Safety.
• 10+ years HSE experience in road or infrastructure projects.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong hazard identification and reporting skills.
• Good communication and safety leadership qualities.
