Role Overview
HPE Networking Systems Engineer - UAE. This Pre-Sales Systems Engineer role addresses major and public sector accounts in Abu Dhabi. The position is hybrid, requiring an average of 2 days per week at an HPE office.

Role Purpose
The Pre-Sales Systems Engineer provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex networking solutions to meet and exceed customer business requirements. This role manages technical and functional support to existing and prospective clients while ensuring customer satisfaction with the technical sales process and solution deployment. The Systems Engineer combines excellent sales support and consultative skills with expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies, with emphasis on campus and distributed branch networks.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Development & Delivery
- Create and define a Technological Roadmap on pre-assigned clients, with focus on the priority areas of HPE Networking.
- Create and document technology solutions and proposals designed to meet customer business requirements.
- Implement and support customer Proof of Concept engagements, proving that HPE technical solutions meet and exceed customer business requirements.
- Gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution.
- Develop innovative, tailored solutions for both clients and prospects through team collaboration.
- Understand various ways a solution may be delivered and anticipate what will work best for a given client.
Sales Support & Opportunity Management
- Work with HPE Territory Managers to qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful engagements.
- Proactively support an opportunity pipeline and drive through the sales process to closure.
- Present and articulate the capabilities and values of HPE Solutions as they relate to customer business requirements and versus competitors.
- Participate in proposal development and support the technical aspects related to deal closure in complex and competitive deal pursuit situations.
- Consult with assigned Territory Managers to provide a comprehensive pitch to prospective clients.
Competitive Positioning & Market Knowledge
- Maintain knowledge of competitive solution offerings.
- Strategically position the correct HPE products and highlight HPE differentiators and advantages.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership
- Interface with both internal and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
- Understand the HPE channel and create relationships with HPE partners to increase sales via the channel.
- Work within a team in a very competitive market, maintaining a hands-on, customer first approach.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field OR significant experience in networking technical and pre-sales activities roles.
- Minimum of 8+ years of technical professional, pre-sales/post-sales work experience.
- Extensive experience in Networking including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, security, SASE and Network Management platforms, both on premises and in cloud.
- Experience in Network Access Security including HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, or equivalent.
- Experience in creating solution sales offerings spanning multiple product and service portfolios in a very competitive market.
- Experience with Abu Dhabi Major accounts including public sector is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Specific Networking certifications (HPE, Juniper, Cisco, etc. such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CISSP, CCIE). Juniper Certifications are a must; the others are highly preferred.
- Effective, articulate communication with strong customer-facing skills.
- Ability to translate product knowledge into customer added business value.
- Solution selling expertise.
- Consultative skills combined with expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies.
- Ability to lead in a team environment.
