Role Overview
Housekeeping Supervisor at IHG Hotels and Resorts. This role leads the housekeeping department to deliver excellent guest service, maintain operational standards, and support the hotel's financial and sustainability goals.
Role Purpose
Supervise housekeeping staff and operations to ensure compliance with departmental standards, deliver exceptional guest service, manage inventory and scheduling, and drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Leadership & Development
- Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure compliance with departmental standards.
- Conduct staff briefings, provide coaching, and support continuous improvement.
- Assist with staff training and work scheduling.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve departmental goals.
Operations & Inventory Management
- Manage storage areas and maintain adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate room allocations, inspections, and arrival room priorities.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of room types, layouts, facilities, and housekeeping systems.
Guest Service & Coordination
- Ensure excellent guest service and promptly address guest requests and complaints.
- Liaise with Front Office and manage guest requests, valet services, calls, and lost property.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, fire safety, and hotel security procedures.
- Report incidents and accidents promptly.
Strategic Support
- Support departmental goals, financial targets, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Support sustainability initiatives and coordinate special housekeeping projects.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school certificate required; hotel school qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position within an international hotel chain, preferably IHG.
Skills & Competencies
- Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and external parties.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and reasoning skills.
- Coaching and training skills.
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and interpret information.
- Smart, well-groomed, and professional appearance.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
