Role Overview
Hostess position at Marriott International. This role is part of the Guest Service Expert team, delivering exceptional hospitality and dining experiences to guests.
Role Purpose
Create memorable and unique guest experiences by taking initiative and delivering a wide range of services throughout the dining experience. The Hostess ensures that every interaction, from seating to departure, feels like part of a carefully crafted experience rather than a transactional service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Hospitality
- Set tables to service standards.
- Interact with and serve guests throughout their dining experience.
- Communicate with kitchen staff regarding guest needs and timing.
- Deliver services proactively to ensure guest satisfaction.
Workplace Operations
- Clean work areas and supplies to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods while moving through dining areas.
- Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces safely.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance, and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed.
Standards & Compliance
- Uphold company quality standards in all guest interactions.
- Create and maintain a safe workplace for team members and guests.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional uniform, personal appearance, and communications.
- Read and visually verify menu and operational information.
- Complete other reasonable job duties as requested.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- Related Work Experience: Less than 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- Supervisory Experience: None required.
- License or Certification: None required.
