Hindi Linguist CAT II - CENTCOM

Role Overview

Hindi Linguist CAT II supporting CENTCOM operations for Amentum. Position based in Kuwait, supporting U.S. military operations OCONUS.

Role Purpose

Provide linguistic and cultural expertise to support U.S. military operations in Kuwait. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned area of responsibility, delivering translation, interpretation, and analysis services while offering cultural perspective on the region's historical, political, sociological, and economic trends to senior leadership staff.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation & Communication Support

• Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations.
• Interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
• Work shifts and extended hours in support of 24 x 7 operations.

Analysis & Research

• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information.
• Conduct gisting and summarizing of language materials.
• Render abstract language and idioms accurately.

Translation Services

• Supply a variety of translation and interpretation services for Hindi.
• Provide transcription services.

Qualifications & Experience

• U.S. citizen.
• Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in Hindi.
• Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral and written language skills examination.
• Active Secret clearance for access to classified information.
• Experience in translation, transcription, and interpretation.
• Experience in triage of language materials.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent command of Hindi verbal skills.
• Excellent command of English verbal and written skills.
• Familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with local culture and customs.

Additional Information

• Must hold a current U.S. passport, or apply as soon as accepted into the program.
• Must be willing to work in Kuwait.
• Must undergo medical examination.
