Role Purpose

As Head Veterinarian, you will provide medical leadership and clinical expertise across all veterinary services, manage the medical team and facility schedules, mentor veterinary staff and students, and ensure the highest standards of patient care and international best practice in small animal veterinary medicine.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Diagnostics

• Diagnose and treat illnesses in small animals.
• Conduct surgical procedures including basic orthopedic surgery.
• Perform diagnostic imaging.
• Provide preventive care for pets and livestock.
• Deliver internal medicine, sportive medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and nutrition consultations.
• Counsel pet owners on animal care, vaccination schedules, and nutrition.
• Provide dentistry services.
• Deliver clinical support across the clinic, ensuring best practice patient care.

Alternative & Emerging Treatments

• Develop knowledge and familiarity with alternative treatments including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and laser therapy under the direction of the Head Veterinarian.
• Foster innovation by ensuring Groomy Pet continuously meets the highest international standards in new physiotherapy treatments and activities.

Client Relations & Medical Records

• Ensure strong client relationships through best communication practices.
• Maintain and update medical records.
• Provide ongoing treatment follow-up and support.

Team Leadership & Mentoring

• Lead the medical team and report directly to the general manager.
• Provide guidance and teaching to nursing staff, handlers, and students.
• Mentor and support the highest quality of teaching and development of clinic staff who may need veterinary support.
• Provide guidance to intern veterinarians and students in all veterinary medicine related activities.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across all colleagues.

Operations & Standards

• Create and manage schedules for the facility ensuring all medical services are covered.
• Work with management to improve strategies for patient flow management.
• Lead clinical standards and continue to build a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
• Propose potential business expansion opportunities according to real-time market demand and status.

Qualifications & Experience

• UAE small animal licensed veterinarian.
• Background in small animal veterinary medicine.
• Foreign candidates with good credentials in small animal veterinary medicine will be considered.

Skills & Competencies
