Role Purpose
To support the quantity surveying function on construction projects by organizing measurement tasks, preparing cost plans and estimates, managing site verifications, and maintaining comprehensive financial records and forecasts to ensure accurate project cost control and client reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Planning
- Organize measurement tasks when preparing estimates and cost plans.
- Draft estimates and cost plans for review.
- Undertake cost estimates for alternative design solutions.
- Undertake estimates of variations.
- Demonstrate good understanding of compiling unit rates for estimating.
Bills of Quantities & Documentation
- Prepare Bills of Quantity including drafting Preambles and General Requirements.
- Undertake market review and research for compiling and updating unit rates for estimating.
- Prepare and maintain records of all sub-contractor agreements and payments.
- Collate Contract Documentation.
Site Verification & Payment Management
- Undertake on-site and off-site quantity verifications and confirmation with regards to payments and variation works.
- Check and verify all invoices of the said sub-packages on site.
- Check materials on and off site and verify delivery and acceptance from the client's representative for payment approval.
- Maintain a register of payments.
- Verify Final Accounts submitted by Contractors, selected Sub-Contractors and Suppliers, adjusting as necessary and providing recommendations to the Client.
Financial Reporting & Forecasting
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and maintain monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- 0–2 years of experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of cost planning across concept design, schematic design, and detailed design phases.
- Knowledge and understanding of Measurement and Bills of Quantity in POMI and CESMM.
- Understanding of FDIC Forms of Contracts.
- Experience with or knowledge of Hotels, Residential, Retail, and Mixed-use developments.
Skills & Competencies
- Computer literate in AutoCAD measurement, MS Excel, and MS Word.
