Role Purpose
To support the delivery of high-profile projects by preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and cost plans; verifying quantities and payments on site; maintaining financial records; and providing accurate cost reporting and forecasting to clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Cost Planning
- Organize measurement tasks when preparing estimates and cost plans.
- Draft estimates and cost plans for review.
- Undertake cost estimates for alternative design solutions.
- Undertake estimates of variations.
- Demonstrate understanding of compiling unit rates for estimating.
Bills of Quantities & Documentation
- Prepare bills of quantities including drafting preambles and general requirements.
- Undertake market review and research for compiling and updating unit rates for estimating.
- Prepare and maintain records of all sub-contractor agreements and payments.
- Maintain a register of payments.
On-Site Verification & Payment Control
- Conduct on-site and off-site quantity verifications and confirmation with regards to payments and variation works.
- Check and verify all invoices of sub packages on site.
- Check materials on and off site and verify delivery and acceptance from the client's representative for payment approval.
- Undertake on-site verification of final accounts submitted by contractors, selected sub-contractors and suppliers, adjusting as necessary and providing recommendations to the client.
Financial Reporting & Forecasting
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts.
- Prepare and maintain monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- 0–2 years of experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Computer literacy including AutoCAD measurement, Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of cost planning across concept design, schematic design and detailed design phases.
- Knowledge of measurement and bills of quantities in POMI and CESMM standards.
- Collation of contract documentation.
- Understanding of FDIC Forms of Contracts.
- Familiarity with hotels, residential, retail and mixed-use development sectors.
