Role Purpose

Lead a GIS installation and commissioning field services team while providing technical expertise to customers on product commissioning, installation, testing, and equipment upgrades. Ensure safe, on-time execution of orders and develop sustained customer relationships to support future business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead a young and experienced GIS field services team.
• Coach and monitor the team to ensure the competency matrix is updated and drive results toward organizational targets with sufficient certified supervisors per Hitachi Energy standards.
• Participate in coaching and support activities to raise team competency from safety and technical perspectives.
• Plan and monitor team utilization across projects.
• Maintain solid communication with the team regularly to understand their needs and provide guidance.
• Enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness of the GIS supervisors' team by implementing regular site visits, monitoring progress and quality of work, and correctly reflecting man hours to projects for better utilization.
• Collaborate to maintain understanding between project managers and site installation supervisors, reducing misunderstandings with customers by deploying team members with appropriate competency based on job nature and complexity.

Site Operations & Execution

• Manage daily site activity and oversee expert, on-time execution of orders regarding new assembly, malfunctions, preventive maintenance, and commissioning.
• Contribute to successful project completion by meeting scheduling, cost, and material objectives.
• Participate in site meetings as required by various site organizations.
• Close hazards whenever applicable in your area; manage six statements of training (SOT) for the year.

Quality & Reporting

• Review reports and correct mistakes, highlighting them to the project team to prevent future occurrence by reflecting findings in the project customer assessment report.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in GIS preferred.
• GIS certification is a must.
• Strong knowledge with SF6 gas handling.
• PGHV Transmission and Sub transmission GIS product knowledge preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in MS Project.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language required.
• Technical expertise in commissioning, installing, and testing of GIS products and equipment.
• Ability to identify and correct complex problems associated with start-up.
• Capability to research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that meet customer needs.
• Relationship building and customer development skills.
