Role Overview

Role Purpose

Enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired, and commissioned worldwide for PGHV high voltage systems. Represent PG and PGHV at installation sites through technical knowledge and client engagement. Ensure all installation and commissioning work is executed in perfect technical order while adhering to project deadlines and maintaining cost-performance ratios.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

• Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests.
• Supervise PG installation completion documentation.
• Ensure the competence execution of assigned tasks.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and Instructions.
• Ensure necessary accident prevention measures are observed.
• Abide by guidelines for work on live system components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Embody the PG QA philosophy, considering special conditions on construction sites.
• Responsible for red-mark drawings and documents with any changes or modifications that became necessary during installation.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.

Coordination & Supervision

• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the work force necessary to comply with the schedule.
• Cooperate with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage.
• Coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate loop check activities.
• Participate at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.

General Duties

• Carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfill the job requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience with GIS preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 GAS-Handling preferred.
• Previous experience with PGHV Transmission and Sub-transmission GIS Product knowledge preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English language required.
• Capability to use MS Project professionally.
