Role Overview
GIS I&C Engineer at Hitachi Energy Ltd, located in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, non-remote position.
Role Purpose
You will enable the successful installation, repair, and fault elimination of switching systems worldwide for PGHV. You will represent Hitachi Energy and PGHV specifically at installation sites, ensuring all activities meet technical standards, project deadlines, and cost-performance targets while upholding the company's quality assurance philosophy.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
- Supervise final installation and commissioning tests and PG installation completion documentation.
- Ensure the installation and commissioning work entrusted to you is carried out in perfect technical order.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with installation requirements and Instructions.
- Ensure that necessary accident prevention measures are observed, specifically adhering to guidelines for work on live system components.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Documentation & Quality Control
- Maintain responsibility for red-mark drawings and documents with any changes or modifications that became necessary during installation.
- Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.
- Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage.
- Coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.
Coordination & Supervision
- Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the work force necessary to comply with the schedule.
- Cooperate with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
- Supervise and coordinate the loop check activities and participation at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
General Accountability
- Carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfil the job requirements.
- Take responsibility for the competent execution of your tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.
- Previous experience with SF6 Gas-Handling and PGHV Transmission and Sub-transmission GIS Product knowledge is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Professional capability to use MS Project.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
