Role Purpose
The General Technician is responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout the hotel to ensure all facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in safe and efficient working condition while providing prompt support for maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs
- Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance work throughout the hotel.
- Inspect and repair basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building-related issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of hotel equipment and facilities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
Inspections and Monitoring
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and engineering facilities.
- Report major defects, equipment failures, or safety hazards to the Engineering Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work.
Operational Support
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel departments and guests.
- Support other engineering team members with maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with energy-saving initiatives and ensure equipment is operated efficiently.
Compliance and Service
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with hotel safety standards and procedures.
- Follow all health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Provide professional and courteous service to guests and colleagues at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities management, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance work.
- Relevant technical qualification or vocational training is an advantage.
