Role Overview

Gas System Inspectors at BlackStone eIT ensure the safety, compliance, and efficient operation of gas systems. The role is based with BlackStone eIT and involves inspecting gas pipelines, distribution networks, and related infrastructure to identify potential hazards, assess condition, and recommend necessary maintenance or repairs.

Role Purpose

Inspectors work closely with maintenance teams and regulatory agencies to uphold industry standards and safety regulations by conducting thorough assessments of gas system infrastructure and facilitating corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Assessment

• Conduct routine inspections of gas pipelines, valves, meters, and distribution systems.
• Perform site inspections during installation, commissioning, periodic audits, and incident investigations.
• Verify leak detection devices, ventilation provisions, and pressure testing results.
• Identify safety risks, leaks, corrosion, and operational issues.
• Assess internal gas piping systems, regulators, meters, risers, and emergency shutoff valves.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry safety standards and regulations.
• Stay current on evolving gas system technologies and regulatory requirements.

Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare detailed inspection reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Report findings on identified hazards and operational issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to facilitate repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Assist in emergency response and incident investigations related to gas systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience inspecting gas systems, pipelines, and equipment.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Gas Technology, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of gas safety codes, standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Certifications related to gas system inspection or safety are a plus.
