Foreman - Mason

Role Overview

Foreman - Mason at NMDC Group. The mason Foreman will oversee and coordinate casting and finishing of precast elements, ensuring that work is completed on time and to the highest standards.

Role Purpose

Oversee all aspects of masonry construction projects, managing teams of workers, liaising with clients and suppliers, and ensuring that all safety regulations are adhered to while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Planning

• Plan and budget for projects.
• Manage project budgets and resources.
• Maintain the drawings and production plan and follow the work schedule as instructed by General Foreman.
• Order materials and equipment.
• Resolve any issues or delays that arise during construction.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Manage masonry crews.
• Schedule and supervise the workers in the concerned area of the workplace.
• Make sure all personnel are following the schedule and following the quality system, Occupational health and safety, and procedures for industrial safety standards.
• Coordinate daily attendance and request overtime for the concerned area of operation.
• Train and mentor junior masons.
• Lead as an example in front of workers by not violating any rules and correcting unsafe actions and conditions.

Quality & Operations

• Oversee all aspects of masonry construction projects.
• Ensure the quality of workmanship.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
• Supervise the cleanness of the concerned section of the operation.
• Maintain equipment and machinery under supervision.
• Inform the general foreman and coordinate with the maintenance department to conduct periodic maintenance.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safety regulations are followed.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
• Cooperate with anything the employer does to comply with OHS requirements.
• Comply with HSE requirements communicated in HSE induction, procedures, and policies.
• Report unsafe acts and conditions to the HSE department using Intelex or booklets provided.
• Do not carry out any task if you are not trained or authorized to do so, and make sure the workers working under you are following the same.
• Attend Group Safety Meetings, HSE Campaigns and committee meetings as and when required.
• Participate in weekly or monthly HSE walkthroughs with your area HSE staff as per the plans.
• Monitor your targets and KPIs.
• Ensure your competent and skill-based certificates are valid and communicate with a supervisor if getting expire.

General Duties

• All other jobs as assigned by the site supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Equivalent Qualification or Experience.
• Higher School Certificate.
