Role Overview
Financial Credit Analyst at Bank of Jordan. The role supports the corporate team in day-to-day business by providing, developing and enhancing the quality of credit decision management across business development departments and conducting data analysis across credit portfolios.
Role Purpose
Support the corporate team by providing, developing and enhancing the quality of credit decision management across business development departments and conducting data analysis across credit portfolios to enable sound credit decisions that achieve the Bank's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Analysis & Decision Support
- Conduct data analysis regarding transactions on credit facility applications received by the Department.
- Substantiate recommendations for use by Bank stakeholders to make decisions on new loans and investments, renewal, amendment and structuring of existing loans and investments.
- Provide decision-makers with accurate numbers, information, data and analysis to ensure sound credit decisions that achieve the Bank's objectives.
Risk Assessment & Measurement
- Perform in-depth analysis of available data to develop effective and efficient risk identification, assessment and measurement on all credit decisions.
- Review and analyze credit information and matters related to credit reports, including studying the conditions of economic sectors, financial solvency, continuity of status, mortgages and guarantors.
- Possess knowledge of stress tests, Basel, credit risk, market risk, operational risk and liquidity risk.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare detailed credit reports on the position of borrowers, including credit status, repayment capabilities, potential risk of default and interest in establishing and maintaining relationships.
- Submit observations to the direct supervisor.
- Contribute to the analysis of estimated cashflows by preparing necessary reports and providing the direct manager with all necessary data and information.
- Provide all data and reports to relationship managers and direct manager as requested to facilitate the decision-making process and develop recommendations.
Stakeholder Communication & Updates
- Inform the direct supervisor of all developments, events and economic reports on the status of market sectors, credit portfolios and clients.
- Provide the necessary support for all projects related to companies' business.
- Provide those concerned with any data, reports and information needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Banking and Finance, Statistics or any related discipline.
- Work experience of at least one year in the field of credit or data analysis in banks or related institutions.
Skills & Competencies
- Analytical abilities using the best statistical and mathematical tools.
- Good abilities in quantitative calculations.
- Full knowledge of English.
- Competent use of computers and handling various application systems.
- Good knowledge of services and products provided by the Bank.
- Full knowledge of the policies and procedures that govern work and their internal and external updates.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to communicate and interact well with others.
