Role Overview

Field Service Technician at Leidos, supporting US Army Central G2 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This is a deployed position providing IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT Systems.

Company Overview

The Leidos Defense Sector supports customers throughout the ARCENT Area of Responsibility, including U.S. and coalition personnel. The program operates within a Microsoft Enterprise software environment residing on multiple networks and provides network administration support.

Role Purpose

Deliver Tier I and II customer service support across multiple networks, facilities, and locations, while performing hardware and infrastructure work to maintain IT systems for a dynamic military intelligence enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Service Desk & Support

  • Provide Tier I and II customer service support as part of a service desk team across multiple networks, facilities, and locations via in-person, telephonic, or electronic ticket system submission.
  • Escalate incidents to Tier II or Tier III when required.
  • Track all work in designated incident database tools and systems, such as Remedy, ensuring tickets are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Hardware & Infrastructure

  • Complete basic and advanced hardware and infrastructure work including cable management at workstations and in server rooms.
  • Execute workstation installations.
  • Check UPS systems.
  • Replace hardware components of laptops and desktops.
  • Perform basic printer maintenance.
  • Conduct site surveys and installation of IT equipment.

Systems & Applications

  • Remediate problems with Windows desktops, laptops, printers, digital senders, video teleconference systems, and VoIP systems.
  • Execute basic Active Directory tasks.
  • Manage NTFS permissions such as share folder access.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software issues with MS Office, Outlook, Adobe, Java, and PKIs.
  • Apply patches and updates to workstations both locally and remotely using PowerShell and RDP.

User Management

  • Support In and Out process users, including creating accounts, setting up workstations, mapping drives, and configuring printers.
  • Schedule and de-conflict Video Teleconferences.

Operations & Special Projects

  • Participate in or lead special projects and day-to-day operations as assigned by the site lead.
  • Surge to alternate locations for customer requirements or to backfill personnel during R&R or other absences.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance in DISS.
  • Active 8570 IAT II or higher Baseline Certification, such as Security+.
  • Active Windows Computing Environment certification, such as MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or MD-102: Microsoft 365: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or the ability to obtain after hire.
  • Experience resolving Tier I and II hardware, software, and application issues including printer, basic network (LAN), and scheduling and troubleshooting Video Teleconferences.
  • Current U.S. passport with at least 36 months validity and 5 blank pages.
  • Must successfully complete CRC processing and medical screening and be designated "fit for deployment," including medical tests and BMI analysis.
  • Must obtain and maintain host nation work visa, including required local and regional medical testing.

Skills & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • Knowledge of security groups and NTFS permissions.
  • Knowledge of Cisco network and LAN principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows 11.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on-site, 7 days per week.
  • 24/7 on-call availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to live and work in the State of Kuwait or deploy to austere forward locations as required.
  • Ability to comply with all corporate policies, local site policies, host nation laws, customs, and courtesies.

Additional Information

  • Duty hours are 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, subject to local labor laws.
  • Position requires 24/7 on-call availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Deployed position located at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
  • Preferred qualifications include active IT certifications such as AZ-802: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, CCNA, VCTA, or NCDA.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with US Intelligence networks and organizations in South-West Asia or on a Camp Arifjan service desk.
  • Pay range $59,150.00 - $106,925.00.
  • Leidos pay range is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary; additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement, or other law.
