FHE Refueler Mechanic

Role Overview

FHE Refueler Mechanic at Amentum. This role supervises the reconstitution, preservation and maintenance of all USAF Fuels Support Equipment (FSE) and vehicle assets.

Role Purpose

Ensure compliance with applicable USAF mandatory requirements, the Performance Work Statement (PWS), and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) while overseeing the reconstitution, preservation, inspection and maintenance of all USAF Fuels Support Equipment and vehicle assets.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair

• Inspect, test, repair and maintain electrical systems on Fuels assets.
• Use and interpret wiring diagrams, test equipment and special tools.
• Charge and repair air conditioning systems.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Fuels assets.
• Ensure that the most economic form of repair is performed on all USAF Fuels assets.
• Conduct repair parts research to ensure only required repair parts are requested and determine local availability of required repair parts.
• Ensure correct and expeditious completion of work orders.

Inspection and Preparation

• Perform receipt Limited Technical Inspections (LTI) within prescribed guidelines.
• Inspect and prepare USAF Fuels assets for air/land/sea movement.
• Inspect all completed vehicle repairs to ensure quality assurance is maintained.

Inventory and Equipment Management

• Maintain and store out-load items: wet and dry charged batteries, electrolyte, battery clamps and other required equipment.
• Keep a stock of charged batteries in accordance with the PWS and as directed by supervision.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are serviceable, accounted for and secured.
• Ensure all unserviceable and unused serviceable repair parts are returned to the supply facility.

Safety, Compliance and Standards

• Ensure monthly reconstitution, preservation and inspection goals are attained.
• Ensure safety practices and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standard.
• Store and dispose of all hazardous materials in accordance with Amentum Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.

Operations and Scheduling

• Prioritize work according to goals and schedules.
• Perform Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Responsibility (AOR) as required by US Air Force/Amentum tasking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years' experience as a Fuels Technician required.
• Four years supervisory experience preferred.
• Formal training in refueling maintenance is desired.
• Experience supervising a diverse international workforce is desired.

Skills & Competencies

• Outstanding customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand, speak, read and write English at an intermediate level.
• Ability to read and comprehend all required publications.
• Proficiency in personal computers and Windows Operating System.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
• Capacity to work effectively with diverse workforce encompassing different cultural backgrounds.

Additional Information

• Valid home country driver's license required; ability to obtain host nation driver's license required.
• May be required to operate material handling and light to heavy military type vehicles/equipment.
• Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
• Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
