Fabricator

Role Overview

Fabricator position at NOV, fabrication shop location.

Role Purpose

Prepare and fabricate heavy structural components including masts, substructures, and mud systems through material marking, cutting, bevelling, grinding, and quality inspection.

Key Responsibilities

Marking & Layout

• Mark layouts for fabrication of heavy structures such as masts, substructures, and mud systems.

Cutting & Bevelling

• Cut and bevel materials including beams, tubing, channels, and angles using gas torch with required nozzle knowledge.
• Grind bevels and edges to proper angle.
• Operate manual cutting torch for cutting steel plates, pipes, and structural steel.

Quality & Inspection

• Check quantity and sizes of received material from the prep shop.
• Use various measuring tools including tapes, fabrication tools, and weld gauges.

Workplace Management

• Clean workplace and maintain safe handling of materials.
• Maintain safety regulations and obey company safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of fabrication experience in Oil and Gas projects.
• High School (10th Pass) or equivalent.
• Experience working with fabrication tools.
• Basic technical knowledge in materials and fabrication processes.

Skills & Competencies

• Use of measurement tools such as measure tape, levels, and weld gauges.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and principles including welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, and fit-up work.
• Basic English speaking ability.
