Expert Engineer/Network Security

Role Overview

Expert Engineer/Network Security at Etisalat E&, responsible for reviewing and implementing security controls across Etisalat's infrastructure services in alignment with company security practices and guidelines.

Role Purpose

Review and implement all necessary and required security controls to protect Etisalat's infrastructure services following design documentation review and security guidelines. Support on-call escalations and change management roster while engaging with multiple stakeholders and service owners to deliver daily tasks. Provide professional guidance and support to subordinates in carrying out assigned functions where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Security Implementation & Controls

• Review design documentation and implement required security controls across 4G, 3G, MPLS, Internet, Cloud, Data Centers and IPTV services.
• Analyze network architecture and strategies for planning and coordinating infrastructure expansion and upgrades.
• Coordinate with security planning for all new projects and ensure best security practices and strategies are followed.
• Design and implement security controls for telecom, cloud and IT services.

Administration & Management

• Administer, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network security-related issues.
• Manage and administer security devices including Arbor DDOS, Peakflow, TMS and AED.
• Coordinate with TAC regarding hardware, software and network problems and request RMA for faulty equipment.

Technical Analysis & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
• Provide Level 2/3 support to diagnose all problems that may cause service degradation or interruption in the network security domain.
• Analyze packet captures to understand attack behavior and apply required counter measures.
• Understand attacking behavior and different techniques used for DDOS attacks.
• Troubleshoot network security domain issues.

Operations & Support

• Support on-call escalations and routine roster for change management function.
• Provide call out support on all L2/L3 escalations 24/7.
• Engage with multiple stakeholders and service owners to achieve daily tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering in any engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience related to network security.
• Preferably worked in telecom environment.

Skills & Competencies

• In-depth technical knowledge of security devices, infrastructure networks, Internet, Cloud, Data Centers and IPTV (MPLS, 3G, 4G, 5G).
• Understanding of networking and firewalls.
• Understanding of Access Control Lists and Policy Filters on High End Cisco Routers and Switches.
• Hands-on experience analyzing packet capture to understand attack behavior and apply required counter measures.
• Design and hands-on experience of different information security products.
• CCNP (Security) certification.
• CEH certification.

Additional Information

• Provide 24/7 on-call support for L2/L3 escalations.
