Executive Sous Chef

Role Overview

Executive Sous Chef at IHG Hotels and Resorts. You will ensure quality, maintain high standards, and keep the kitchen running smoothly, delivering memorable dining experiences across the hotel's food and beverage operations.

Role Purpose

To lead kitchen operations and direct daily culinary activities while coaching and developing a team capable of catering to more than 500 people, ensuring every plate meets exceptional standards and guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations & Quality

• Make every meal a feast for the eyes and treat for the tastebuds.
• Direct daily kitchen activities and maintain consistent quality standards.
• Manage multiple outlets and banqueting operations.

Team Leadership & Development

• Coach and develop a kitchen team capable of catering to more than 500 people.
• Build a team capable of delivering exceptional service across all dining venues.

Guest & Feedback Management

• Encourage and address guest feedback.

Planning & Collaboration

• Help the Food and Beverage Manager plan events.
• Work closely with the F&B Manager and Finance team to forecast, plan, and budget.
• Apply strong food-cost control and menu planning expertise.

Compliance & Standards

• Maintain HACCP standards across all kitchen operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of culinary experience in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• At least 3–4 years in a senior kitchen leadership role, preferably as Executive Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef.
• Previous experience in a 4- or 5-star international hotel brand is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong experience in managing multiple outlets, banqueting, and food-cost control.
• Menu planning expertise.
• HACCP standards knowledge and application.
• Team development and coaching.
