Role Overview

Executive Assistant Manager at voco Dubai, IHG Hotels & Resorts, located in Dubai. This is a senior hotel leadership role responsible for supporting the Area General Manager in leading overall hotel operations and driving operational performance across key departments.

Role Purpose

You will provide leadership direction to the hotel by maximizing financial returns, driving the development of people, creating and maintaining memorable guest experiences, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community. You will act on behalf of the Area General Manager when required and play a key role in developing the leadership team and driving continuous improvement across the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Direct everyday activities, plan and assign work to ensure optimal staffing numbers.
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Create performance and development goals for colleagues and recognize good performance.
  • Train colleagues to deliver with compliance and to expected standards, providing the tools they need to work efficiently.
  • Recommend or initiate HR-related actions where needed.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.

Guest Experience

  • Interact with guests and outside contacts including current and potential clients, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers, competitors, and local community members.
  • Ensure the hotel delivers the highest level of guest satisfaction through superb guest services and amenities.

Responsible Business

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and hotel assets in compliance with the hotel's or owner's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain relations with outside contacts.
  • Act as public relations representative to raise awareness of the hotel and brand in the local community.
  • Drive team member involvement in community organizations, activities, and businesses.
  • Develop and carry out action plans to be environmentally conscious by taking steps to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as the manager on duty as required.

Financial Performance

  • Help the Area General Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of financial and operational plans for the hotel to ensure optimum guest satisfaction, sales potential, and profitability.
  • Make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets of the hotel and company and brand loyalty.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration or Business Administration.
  • Three years' hotel leadership experience in a high-level operations role.
  • Must speak English and the local language(s).
  • Other languages preferred.
