Engineering Supervisor

Role Overview

Engineering Supervisor at Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai. The role oversees daily maintenance operations, manages the engineering team, and ensures preventive and corrective maintenance work is completed to standard across all building systems.

Role Purpose

To lead engineering and maintenance operations, coordinate technical teams, manage work orders and compliance, support capital and operational expenditure planning, and ensure safe, efficient operation of all building systems while maintaining administrative oversight and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure preventive and corrective work is completed to standard.
• Assign tasks to technicians and coordinate work across the engineering team.
• Manage work orders and coordinate with procurement and external contractors.
• Respond to emergencies and support urgent maintenance needs.

Systems & Technical Knowledge

• Maintain technical proficiency across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, building management systems (BMS), and fire systems.
• Implement and oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Update engineering systems and maintain technical logs and records.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain preventive maintenance reports, asset management cycle (AMC) files, and all engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
• Track inventory and maintain accurate record-keeping.

Planning & Cost Control

• Support CAPEX and OPEX planning and cost control activities.
• Monitor expenditure and resource allocation.

Administration & Staffing

• Manage monthly attendance records, overtime, and leave documentation.
• Create and maintain duty rosters.
• Train, guide, and support the engineering team.

Coordination

• Facilitate smooth coordination between the engineering department and other hotel departments.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in engineering or maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a supervisory or lead technician role.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, BMS, fire systems).
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and engineering operations.
