Role Overview

Engineer - Wet at AECOM. The role is based in Dubai and involves the design and hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure for municipal and large-scale development projects.

Role Purpose

Develop technically sound, cost-effective designs for water and wastewater networks and associated infrastructure that comply with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, local authority requirements, environmental regulations, and applicable international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design

• Design water, sewerage, stormwater, and other wet utility networks.
• Design pumping stations, reservoirs, manholes, and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare utility layouts, profiles, detailed drawings, calculations, and BOQs.

Hydraulic Modeling & Analysis

• Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis using WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, and InfoWorks ICM.
• Review hydraulic capacity, pressure, flow, pipe sizing, and network performance.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure designs comply with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and relevant international standards.

Coordination & Support

• Coordinate wet utilities with roads, dry utilities, mechanical, and other infrastructure disciplines.
• Support authority submissions, design reviews, and technical coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5–8+ years of relevant professional experience in wet utilities, water infrastructure, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure design.
• Previous experience working on Dubai/UAE infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
• A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure, residential, commercial, industrial, or urban development projects is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency with WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, and InfoWorks ICM.
• Hydraulic modeling and analysis.
• Knowledge of Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and international engineering standards.
