Engineer - Risk Management

Role Overview

Engineer - Risk Management at HILL International, based with the Saudi Arabia - Projects team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose

Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. Work closely with project teams to identify potential risks, evaluate their impact, and develop mitigation plans. Minimize project delays, cost overruns, and other adverse outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment and Analysis

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for infrastructure projects, identifying potential hazards and their likelihood and impact.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in risk management, incorporating new methodologies into processes.

Risk Planning and Documentation

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk register, tracking and prioritizing risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and implement risk management plans, including contingency strategies and mitigation measures.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor and analyze project performance, identifying emerging risks and taking proactive measures to address them.
• Conduct regular risk reviews and provide risk reports to senior management, highlighting key risks and proposed actions.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Training

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into project planning and execution.
• Provide risk management training and guidance to project teams, ensuring a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management.
• Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that risk management practices align with quality standards and requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the infrastructure or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and tools, including qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques.
• Experience in developing and implementing risk management plans, including risk response strategies.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to risk management, such as ISO 31000.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex risks and develop effective solutions.
• Proficiency in using risk management software and tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Risk Register, or similar platforms.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of risk management deliverables.
