Engineer - QA/QC

Role Overview

WSP is seeking a highly experienced QA/QC Engineer to join the supervision team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and quality control processes across utilities and infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose

Ensure that all construction activities, materials, workmanship, and documentation comply with project specifications, contract requirements, applicable standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Control Implementation

• Monitor and implement project Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
• Review contractor quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, and related quality documentation.
• Verify compliance of construction activities with project specifications, drawings, standards, and approved procedures.

Site Inspection and Testing

• Conduct site inspections and witness testing activities for utilities and infrastructure works.
• Review material submittals, manufacturers' certificates, laboratory test results, and quality records.

Non-Conformance Management

• Raise, track, and close non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Support project teams in identifying quality risks and implementing mitigation measures.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, laboratories, and stakeholders on quality-related matters.
• Participate in audits, quality reviews, and management inspections.

Reporting and Documentation

• Monitor and report quality performance indicators and project quality metrics.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of quality records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare quality reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of professional experience in QA/QC for infrastructure and utility projects.
• Strong experience in site supervision and construction quality management.
• Experience on roads, utilities, drainage, water networks, sewer networks, and associated infrastructure projects.
• Experience working with engineering consultants or supervision consultants is preferred.
• Previous experience in Saudi Arabia and familiarity with local authority requirements is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Thorough understanding of international standards, construction specifications, and quality management systems.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of inspections, testing procedures, material approvals, and quality documentation.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management/document control systems.
