Engineer - Civil at AECOM, based in the United Arab Emirates, working on infrastructure projects in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
Deliver civil infrastructure engineering design and coordination across utilities, telecommunications and street lighting systems, from masterplan concept through final design stages, ensuring compliance with local authority guidelines and standards while collaborating across multiple project disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Systems Design
- Lead design of primary substations, EHV, HV and LV corridors, distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets.
- Design HV networks up to 33kV and LV networks with full calculations.
- Develop telecommunications infrastructure network design including ducts, manholes and GSM tower coverage requirements.
- Design street lighting for all types of roads and rights of way, including lighting calculations, single line diagrams, load schedules, and landscape lighting branch wiring.
Project Delivery
- Develop infrastructure project designs from Concept masterplan stage through IFC (Issued for Construction) stage.
- Produce reports and technical documentation supporting design deliverables.
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with wet utilities, roads, transportation, landscape and building discipline teams.
- Apply strong understanding of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and KSA authority guidelines, standards and requirements to all project work.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects.
- Full understanding of dry utilities and infrastructure project requirements from Concept masterplan stage to IFC stage.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of primary substations, EHV, HV and LV corridor systems, distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets.
- Understanding of HV networks up to 33kV and LV network design.
- Proficiency in electrical calculations and report writing.
- Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, duct design, manhole placement and GSM tower coverage.
- Competency in street lighting design for multiple road types, lighting calculations and load scheduling.
