Role Overview
Electrician position at Marriott. The role is based at a Marriott property and focuses on maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and guest-facing facilities to ensure safe, comfortable guest experiences.
Role Purpose
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and perform preventive and corrective maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems to keep the property in safe, functional condition.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Communication
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
- Communicate with guests and customers to resolve maintenance issues.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment.
- Clean and lubricate equipment and machinery.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
- Replace light bulbs and air conditioning filters.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall repair, and wood trim repair.
Electrical & Systems Work
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on electrical components.
- Replace electrical switches and outlets.
- Repair lamps, extension cords, and other electrical guestroom items.
- Program televisions.
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
Plumbing & General Repairs
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic plumbing repairs.
- Plunge toilets and unclog drains.
- Repair internet devices and vacuum cleaners.
- Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping.
- Repair external landscaping sprinklers.
Maintenance Management
- Maintain maintenance inventory.
- Requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate each day's activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
- Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
- Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete safety training and certifications.
- Properly store flammable materials.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
Equipment & Systems Knowledge
- Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
- Input air handler schedules and make temperature changes using basic computer skills.

Physical Demands
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Assist with heavier lifting or movement tasks.
- Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and ladders.
- Reach overhead and below the knees.
- Bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience
- Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
Certification & Licensing
- Driver's License required.
