Role Purpose

To perform maintenance, modification, repair, and troubleshooting activities on electrical equipment and systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation of complex electrical infrastructure in industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Modification

• Carry out maintenance and modification work on HV/MV/LV Power and Distribution Transformers.
• Maintain HV/MV/LV switchboards and switch gears.
• Service HV/MV/LV cables and terminations.
• Perform work on MV/LV Motor Control Centers (MCCs).
• Maintain MV/LV Motors.
• Service Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Service Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS).
• Maintain lighting systems.
• Service Cathodic Protection (CP) Systems.
• Maintain hoists.
• Service electrical systems of flares.

Repairs and Troubleshooting

• Carry out basic repairs of electrical equipment and power circuits.
• Contribute to troubleshooting complex and major electrical problems or breakdowns.

Technical Analysis and Interpretation

• Read and interpret simple machine sketches, Single Line Diagrams, complex control schematics, and diagnose flow charts as necessary to facilitate proper maintenance.

Control and Protection Systems

• Demonstrate familiarity with Electrical Control and Protection Systems including PLCs, Motor Protection Relays, and Feeder Protection Relays.

Tools and Testing

• Use all related tools and instruments for maintenance activities.
• Use and maintain all types of testing and calibration instruments including Multimeter and Insulation Tester (Megger).

Safety and Compliance

• Demonstrate familiarity with hazardous chemicals and materials used in Oil & Gas industries and the means to perform installation and maintenance activities safely.
• Maintain awareness of safety and environmental aspects in Oil & Gas plants.
• Demonstrate knowledge of work permit systems in large-scale industries.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical Diploma in respective trade (12+3 years).
• Five years of relevant, hands-on experience in respective trade in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer industry with demonstrated competency.
