Role Overview
Cost Manager - Engineering & Construction at Egis Group, based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. You will manage project costs, develop budgets, and ensure cost control throughout the project lifecycle while working closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver projects within approved financial parameters.

Role Purpose
To develop and maintain cost control across engineering and construction projects of varying complexity and scale, ensuring accurate financial management, budget adherence, and timely reporting to stakeholders while identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Budgeting
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates and budgets for engineering and construction projects of varying complexity and scale
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies to support project decision-making
- Prepare detailed cost reports and financial forecasts for project stakeholders and senior management
Cost Monitoring & Control
- Monitor and analyze project expenditures against approved budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
- Review change orders and assess their financial impact on project budgets
- Maintain accurate cost documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements
- Provide cost management guidance and support to project managers and engineering teams
Financial Management & Systems
- Utilize cost management software and ERP systems to track, record, and report financial data
- Ensure adherence to Saudi Arabian construction regulations and local compliance requirements
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
- Participate in project meetings and present cost performance metrics to stakeholders
- Manage contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize costs without compromising quality
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in cost management within the engineering and construction industry
- Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project delivery methods, and industry standards
- Experience with contract management and vendor negotiation
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Proven track record of implementing cost control measures and achieving cost savings
- Experience working on projects in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia (preferred)
- Knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction regulations and compliance requirements (preferred)
- Experience in risk management and contingency planning (preferred)
- Professional certification in cost management or related field (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency with cost management software and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments
