Role Overview

Consultant Physician-OBGyne Ward at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC).

Role Purpose

Provide primary care for patients suffering from injuries and common illnesses, with specialization in obstetrics and gynecology. Work across one or more areas of medical specialization including anesthesiology, family and general medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Diagnosis

• Examine patients and take comprehensive medical histories.
• Address patients' concerns and answer their questions.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Explain diagnostic results to patients.

Treatment Planning & Delivery

• Recommend and design treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies.
• Explain medical procedures to patients.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventative healthcare, and lifestyle changes.

Documentation & Communication

• Update patients' charts and information to reflect current findings and treatments.
• Consult with other physicians and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, assistants, and other healthcare staff.
• Comply with medical laws including HIPAA.

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree.
• Successful completion of a residency and internship.
• State license and certification to practice medicine.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses.
