Role Overview

Construction Manager (Artificial Island) – Offshore Topside PMC Project with KBR, based initially in Office and then at Offshore Site on a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation cycle.

Role Purpose

Lead and oversee all civil and underground infrastructure construction activities for a major oil and gas topside facilities installation on an artificial island. Manage execution, safety, quality, schedule, and coordination of complex land-based civil works, including piling, foundations, trenching, underground utilities, cable laying, and associated infrastructure installation.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management

• Lead all onsite construction activities related to civil and underground infrastructure works.
• Manage construction execution in accordance with project schedules, specifications, drawings, and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate daily activities of contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and site supervision teams.
• Ensure efficient deployment of manpower, equipment, and materials.

Civil and Underground Scope Oversight

• Manage and supervise piling and deep foundation systems.
• Manage and supervise excavation and trenching activities.
• Manage and supervise underground utility installation.
• Manage and supervise HDPE, GRP, ductile iron, and reinforced concrete piping systems.
• Manage and supervise stormwater, sewer, potable water, and drainage networks.
• Manage and supervise electrical and communication duct banks.
• Manage and supervise MV/LV cable laying and underground cable installations.
• Manage and supervise road subgrade and civil infrastructure interfaces.
• Review and monitor construction schedules and recovery plans.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil, MEP, utility, and infrastructure packages.
• Participate in constructability reviews and work sequencing.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, quality standards, and local authority regulations.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and construction procedures.
• Support QA/QC teams in inspections and resolution of non-conformance reports (NCRs).

Health, Safety and Environment

• Promote and enforce a strong HSE culture across all site activities.
• Ensure compliance with all project HSE policies and procedures.
• Participate in risk assessments and toolbox talks.

Reporting

• Monitor productivity and progress.
• Prepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports for senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 12–15 years of construction experience in major infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing civil and underground utility works on large-scale developments.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility systems, foundation works, and heavy civil construction methodologies.
• Experience working in the Middle East/GCC region is an advantage.
