Role Purpose

Support the commissioning team in preparing home office deliverables and executing site-based commissioning activities. Participate in walk-down inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning procedures while collaborating with project teams and clients to resolve operational and maintenance issues during commissioning, start-up, and performance testing phases.

Key Responsibilities

Home Office Support

• Report to the Commissioning Manager and provide support to the Principal Commissioning Engineer in preparation of home office deliverables.
• Develop Manuals development documentation.
• Develop Commissioning and Start-up Spares requirements.
• Develop First Fills and Consumables specifications.
• Develop Commissioning and Start-Up Procedures.

Site Activities

• Participate in walk-down inspections, punch listing, and testing at project sites.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrument component issues that arise during commissioning.
• Conduct Discipline Equipment system checks and tests.
• Execute Function testing of mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems.
• Participate in Commissioning, Start-Up, and Performance Testing activities.
• Resolve operational and maintenance issues during Commissioning, Start-Up, and Performance Tests.
• Supervise craft personnel required for site pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Collaboration and Coordination

• Coordinate activities with other engineers in the commissioning team.
• Work collaboratively within the Project team and with the Client to maintain positive relationships.
• Liaise with Commissioning Manager, Discipline Lead Engineers, Project Engineers, and Construction/Fabrication team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or oil and gas process facility.
• Good understanding of concepts, principles, and practices in commissioning, completions, and training.
• Basic knowledge of other functions, such as construction and operations and maintenance.
• Preferably 2 or more years of previous commissioning and start-up experience in the chemical, refinery, or oil and gas industry.

Skills & Competencies

• Effective communication of technical solutions and concepts to engineers and non-engineers.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability to the needs of various discipline groups.
• Ability to assess and communicate project requirements and expectations in a clearly defined, positive, and productive manner.
• Proficiency in English; multi-language skills a plus.
• Apply understanding of the industry to improve effectiveness.
• Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve products or services in the Commissioning Engineering discipline.

Additional Information

• Willing and able to travel to construction sites on assignments to international sites.
• Supervises support personnel within the function group.
• Reports to Project Commissioning Manager and functionally to the Function Commissioning Manager.
