Role Overview

Commis Chef position at Holiday Inn and Suites Dubai Science Park, operated by IHG Hotels and Resorts, located in Dubai.

Role Purpose

To create memorable dining experiences for guests by preparing and presenting high-quality meals with attention to both visual presentation and flavor, while maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, workspace management, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Presentation

• Prepare every meal to high standards of presentation and taste.
• Take ownership of your assigned workstation.
• Keep workstation supplies and equipment organized and well-maintained.

Kitchen Operations

• Monitor and manage waste from your workstation.
• Assist with washing up and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Take on ad-hoc duties as required.

Health, Safety and Compliance

• Maintain cleanliness standards that meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws.
• Comply with local food handling laws and regulations for serving alcohol.

Qualifications & Experience

• Fluency in the local language.
• Above the minimum legal age requirement for serving alcohol in the jurisdiction.
• Basic reading, writing and mathematics skills.

Skills & Competencies

• Physical capability to lift, push and pull objects up to 50 lbs (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.
• Strong communication skills.
• Warm and welcoming demeanor.
• Team player mindset.
