Role Purpose
The Commis Chef is part of the kitchen team responsible for producing creative and excellent dishes while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety. The role ensures that guest expectations are exceeded and fully satisfied through effective food preparation, organization, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Production
- Produce creative and excellent dishes to the highest standards.
- Perform basic tasks of food preparation and organization in the kitchen.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food.
- Carry out multiple different orders simultaneously in brief amounts of time.
Health and Safety
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, including personal hygiene.
- Adhere to basic hygiene and safety procedures.
Communication and Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with other members of the kitchen team.
- Receive constructive criticism gracefully.
- Carry out orders effectively.
- Create excellence in your own area of responsibility and support others as they do the same.
- Remain calm while multitasking.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school degree.
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage or Restaurant operations role.
- Knowledge of basic preparation, presentation and preservation of food.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and safety procedures.
