Commercial Associate Manager -Fruit and Vegetables

Role Overview

Commercial Associate Manager – Fruit and Vegetables at Majid Al Futtaim, MAF Retail, Head Office, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Support sourcing, merchandising, and sales development activities across assigned fruit and vegetable categories and stores. The role focuses on demand forecasting, supplier management, visual merchandising execution, inventory optimization, and commercial performance enhancement while ensuring consistent brand presentation and product availability across locations.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Performance

• Drive category sales, margin growth, and product availability.
• Conduct range reviews and assortment planning for fruit and vegetable categories.
• Develop and execute promotional planning and pricing strategies.
• Identify market trends, customer preferences, and commercial opportunities to improve category performance.

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Support sourcing activities across assigned categories.
• Manage relationships with local and imported fruit and vegetable suppliers and networks.
• Collaborate with supplier partners on product quality standards, pricing, and availability.

Merchandising & Inventory

• Execute visual merchandising standards and planograms across stores.
• Optimize inventory levels and manage shrink control.
• Ensure consistent product presentation and availability across locations.

Forecasting & Analytics

• Support demand forecasting and sales forecasting activities.
• Conduct inventory management and demand planning.
• Interpret sales, stock, and profitability reports to inform commercial decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with Operations, Replenishment, Logistics, and Marketing teams.
• Communicate with and manage stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, and supplier partners.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Commercial, Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising within Fresh Food, Fruits & Vegetables, FMCG, or Retail.
• Experience managing or supporting the Fruits & Vegetables category within a supermarket, hypermarket, or food retail environment.
• Strong understanding of Fruits & Vegetables operations, seasonality, sourcing, pricing, and product quality standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other reporting and analytics tools.
• Advanced analytical skills with ability to interpret sales, stock, and profitability reports.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Operations, Supply Chain, and supplier partners.
