Coating Engineer ( Oil & Gas Industry )

Role Overview

Coating Engineer with ABIS in the Oil & Gas industry. This is a project-focused engineering role responsible for developing, planning, and supervising coating solutions that protect equipment and structures against corrosion and environmental degradation.

Role Purpose

Develop and implement coating specifications and procedures for oil and gas projects, supervise application activities, and ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations. The role requires close collaboration with project teams and quality control to deliver coating solutions that meet rigorous performance and durability standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coating Specification & Design

• Develop coating specifications and procedures for oil and gas projects.
• Inspect and evaluate surfaces to determine appropriate coating systems.
• Provide technical support and recommendations for coating-related issues.

Application & Supervision

• Supervise coating application activities to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with quality control and inspection teams to monitor coating integrity.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations during coating operations.

Documentation & Compliance

• Manage documentation related to coating processes, approvals, and certifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with latest technologies and industry trends in coatings and corrosion protection.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Corrosion Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in coating engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of coating materials, surface preparation, and application techniques.
• Familiarity with industry standards including NACE, SSPC, and ISO related to coating and corrosion control.
