CNC Programmer / Operator

Role Overview

CNC Programmer / Operator at Flowserve. Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, including fabrication, modification, and repair of mechanical instruments and machine tool components.

Role Purpose

Operate precision equipment to produce high-quality machined parts, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operating Equipment

• Operate basic equipment and machines and carry out routine tasks.
• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes and mills.

Precision Measurement and Interpretation

• Interpret and use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
• Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.

Equipment Maintenance

• Help maintain and repair equipment by carrying out preparations and providing assistance.
• Fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments as required.
• Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines.

Operations Management

• Carry out operational tasks by following established processes.
• Work with guidance to understand policies and procedures while ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and objectives.

Health, Safety and Compliance

• Follow basic mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
• Apply elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work.
• Follow straightforward mandatory procedures to ensure work is carried out to required quality standards and adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.

Communication

• Exchange information with people by having courteous interactions with them.
• Use clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5-7 years relevant experience.
• 2+ years machining experience in a manufacturing or repair environment operating manual lathes, milling machines, or CNC lathes and mills.
