Role Purpose

As a Cloud Architect Engineer, you will design, implement, and oversee robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions that support clients' data and technology ecosystems. You will collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to align cloud architecture with business needs, optimize tool selection, cost efficiency, and scalability. You will lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in cloud technology to support Artefact's growth.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Design & Implementation

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure architectures spanning cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments aligned with business requirements.
• Design and implement automated solutions to set up, monitor, and adjust cloud infrastructure efficiently.
• Oversee the integration of cloud platforms with data pipelines, storage, and compute services.
• Develop multi-region disaster recovery and high availability architectures using Azure Traffic Manager, paired regions, and Azure Site Recovery, achieving Recovery Time Objectives under 1 hour for mission-critical workloads.

Standards & Best Practices

• Define and enforce best practices for cloud platform deployment, configuration, security, networking, operations, and tools selection.
• Standardize coding, deployment, and monitoring practices across cloud environments.
• Enable automated patching, scaling, and monitoring tasks via Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and PowerShell Desired State Configuration, improving operational efficiency.

Technical Leadership & Mentoring

• Provide technical leadership across multiple cloud projects, ensuring efficient resource management.
• Lead problem-solving initiatives for complex technical challenges related to cloud environments.
• Foster teamwork by mentoring, coaching, and guiding cloud engineers and ensuring knowledge transfer.
• Mentor, coach, and develop technical teams in cloud engineering best practices.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Manage client relationships regarding project expectations, timelines, and outcomes.
• Manage senior stakeholders and navigate client discussions effectively.
• Deliver business-focused presentations with excellent verbal and written communication.

Growth & Strategic Initiatives

• Contribute to Artefact's growth by maintaining tech partnerships, leading technical proposals to support project planning, and identifying potential growth areas with existing accounts.
• Contribute to business growth through technical innovation and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud architectures on Azure at scale.
• End-to-end design experience for highly available, secure, and cost-optimized Azure environments for enterprise customers.
• Experience leveraging Azure Virtual Network, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure App Service.
• Strong expertise in cloud security, networking, and compliance frameworks.
• Deep understanding of cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and high availability design patterns.
• Experience collaborating with data engineers to optimize architectures on Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities for complex, multi-disciplinary cloud projects.
• Track record of contributing to business growth through technical innovation and strategic initiatives.
