Role Purpose

To provide comprehensive support to individual pupils and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom, enabling them to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day while supporting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Support & Academic Assistance

• Provide support for individual pupils or groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Provide academic assistance to pupils.
• Give group instruction as prescribed by the teacher or provide individual instruction.
• Demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Monitor work assigned by the teacher, check and correct pupils' work while in progress.
• Keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce achievements of pupils and report pupil progress to the teacher.
• Support class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Assist class teachers with photocopying and other tasks to support teaching.

Student Support & Well-being

• Support pupils with additional support needs, such as emotional and behavioral difficulties, and help develop their social skills.
• Provide for pupils' social, emotional, and physical well-being.
• Supervise pupils in classrooms and other locations.
• Participate in development of behavior policy and promote pupils' self-esteem.
• Discipline misbehavior in line with whole school policy.

Individual Education Programmes

• Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils or groups of pupils.
• Help monitor the progress of pupils in individual education programmes.

Classroom Management & Organization

• Prepare and present displays of pupils' work.
• Reorganize materials at the end of the day.
• Check attendance.

Health & Safety

• Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
• Support the aims of the school, comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation, and school policies.

Qualifications & Experience

• UAE National with a minimum secondary school certificate or Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a school setting.
• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• English language skills according to the school curriculum.
