Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive academic and pastoral support to pupils under teacher direction, enabling them to fully participate in classroom and school activities while promoting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support

• Provide academic assistance to pupils.
• Deliver group instruction as prescribed by the teacher.
• Provide individual instruction as prescribed by the teacher.
• Demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Monitor work assigned by teacher, checking and correcting pupils' work while in progress.
• Keep pupils on task.
• Praise and reinforce achievements of pupils.
• Report pupil progress to teacher.

Pupil Well-being and Behaviour

• Supervise pupils in classrooms and other locations.
• Participate in development of behaviour policy.
• Promote pupils' self-esteem.
• Discipline misbehaviour in line with the whole school policy.
• Provide support for pupils' social, emotional and physical well-being.
• Support pupils with additional support needs such as emotional and behavioural difficulties and help develop their social skills.

Inclusive Education Support

• Provide support for individual pupils and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day.
• Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual pupils and groups of pupils and help monitor their progress.
• Work with other professionals such as speech therapists and occupational therapists as necessary.

Administrative and Operational Duties

• Check attendance.
• Reorganise materials at the end of the day.
• Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
• Prepare and present displays of pupils' work.
• Support class teachers with photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching.

Health, Safety and Compliance

• Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
• Comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation and school policies.
• Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.

School Community Engagement

• Support the aims of the school.
• Attend team and staff meetings as required.
• Undertake other duties from time to time as the principal requires.

Qualifications & Experience

• UAE National status required.
