Chief Pilot for the Saudi Arabia Air Operator Certificate (GACA), BEOND, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

BEOND is the world's first premium leisure airline operating an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet and standing up new Air Operator Certificates in Bahrain (BCAA) and Saudi Arabia (GACA).

Role Purpose

The Chief Pilot is appointed by and reports to the Director of Operations. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining flight-crew professional standards, standard operating procedures, and crew standardization, while overseeing line operations and ensuring continuous improvement of operating practices.

Key Responsibilities

Flight Operations & Standards

• Own flight-crew professional standards, SOPs and crew standardisation.
• Oversee line operations, the check-airman programme and crew currency and competence.
• Interface with GACA on flight-crew standards.

Crew Management & Development

• Manage flight-crew discipline, mentoring and continuous improvement of operating practices.

Operations Support

• Support the Director of Operations and deputise on operational matters as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold an ATP certificate with appropriate ratings for at least one aircraft type used in the operation (GACAR 121.49(b)).
• At least 3 years' experience within the past 6 years as PIC of a Part 121 aircraft — required for a first-time Chief Pilot (GACAR 121.49(b)(1)).
• Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).
• Must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on experience, competence and knowledge.

Skills & Competencies

• Airbus A320/A321 family experience (desirable).
• Strong SOP-development and crew-standardisation track record (desirable).
• Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
