Role Overview

Chief Accountant at Radisson Hotel Group. This position oversees day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, and compliance while assisting the Financial Controller in implementing the hotel's financial strategy in accordance with policy and procedures.

Role Purpose

Oversee daily accounting operations and financial controls while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Partner with the Financial Controller to execute the hotel's financial strategy and maintain accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Controls

  • Supervise daily accounting operations, staff mentoring and teamwork to ensure efficient and effective operation.
  • Verify daily bank balances through review of credit card reconciliation for Director of Finance approval.
  • Verify the accuracy of the General Cashier report and ensure revenue is daily deposited into the bank by the General Cashier.
  • Ensure proper filing of accounting records, including contracts, with easy retrieval capability.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Perform month-end accounts reconciliation of all general ledger balances before issuing monthly financial statements.
  • Report any gaps or variances to the Director of Finance.
  • Review monthly reports including F&B report and Cost Controller's report as per company policy.
  • Prepare various monthly reports as required by Management.

Compliance & Tax

  • Ensure all tax payments and filings are completed timely and variances are resolved.

Policy & Development

  • Assist the Financial Controller in reviewing the application of accounting policy, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Keep updated with new regulations and Accor policies.
  • Support ad hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in relevant hotel Finance and non-Finance systems.
