Bolt Torque Lead technician

Role Overview

Bolt Torque Lead Technician at ABIS. This role oversees and manages all bolt tightening activities on projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project specifications.

Role Purpose

Lead bolt torque operations on site, planning and coordinating tightening activities, supervising a team of technicians, and maintaining accurate records to ensure the integrity of mechanical joints and prevent equipment failure.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Supervision

• Lead and supervise bolt torque activities on site according to project requirements and standards.
• Ensure all bolting operations are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Planning & Procedures

• Develop and implement bolting procedures and torque plans.
• Coordinate with engineering and quality control teams to ensure compliance and resolve technical issues.

Quality & Compliance

• Inspect and certify bolted joints and torque tools for accuracy and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports of torqueing activities.

Training & Development

• Train and mentor junior technicians in bolting techniques and safety practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in bolt torque activities, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of bolting tools, torque calculation, and tightening procedures.
• Leadership experience with the ability to supervise and train a team.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
