Bengali Linguist CAT II - CENTCOM

Role Overview

Amentum seeks a Bengali Linguist CAT II to support U.S. military operations and intelligence community customers overseas. The role is based in Kuwait.

Role Purpose

Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations in Kuwait as a Subject Matter Expert in the Bengali language and region. Deliver language services, cultural perspective, and analysis of historical, political, sociological, and economic trends to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation & Support

• Provide operational contract linguist support for military operations.
• Interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences.
• Supply a variety of translation and interpretation services for Bengali.

Analysis & Research

• Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents for key information.

Qualifications & Experience

• U.S. citizen.
• Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in Bengali (target language) based on oral and written language skills examination.
• ILR proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral and written language skills examination.
• Current U.S. passport, or willingness to obtain one upon acceptance into the program.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent command of Bengali verbal and written skills.
• Excellent command of English verbal and written skills.
• Familiarity with and ability to conduct oneself in accordance with local culture and customs.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance for access to classified information.
• Must be willing to work in Kuwait.
• Must be willing to work shifts and extended hours in support of 24 x 7 operations.
• Must undergo medical examination.
