Role Purpose

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages according to established recipes and service standards while creating a welcoming and personalized guest experience. The role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and effective upselling to support guest satisfaction and outlet revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation & Service

• Prepare and serve beverages and cocktails according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of beverage products, cocktail recipes, premium selections, and garnishes.

Guest Experience & Sales

• Engage with guests professionally, handle enquiries, and build positive guest relationships.
• Apply effective upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.

Bar Operations

• Complete mise-en-place, opening and closing duties, requisitions, and stock checks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, hygienic, and well-presented bar area.
• Monitor operating supplies and minimize spoilage, breakage, and wastage.
• Process guest payments accurately and follow established cashiering procedures.

Training & Support

• Assist with inventories and the training of new team members.
• Support banqueting and other operational areas when required.

Compliance & Standards

• Follow all hotel policies and procedures relating to service, fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Bartender in a hotel, restaurant, bar, or similar food and beverage establishment.
• Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktail and mocktail preparation, garnishing, and presentation.
• Sound knowledge of bar hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

• Maintains a professional appearance and a high standard of personal hygiene.
• Able to adapt to different food and beverage outlets and support other areas of the hotel when required.
• Committed to maintaining a clean, organized workplace and following food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
• Willing to attend training and continuously develop beverage, cocktail, product, and service knowledge.

Additional Information

• Flexible to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by operational needs.
