Bartender position at Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park, operated by IHG Hotels and Resorts, located in Dubai Science Park, Dubai.

Role Purpose
Deliver exceptional beverage service to hotel guests by preparing and serving drinks to established standards, managing bar operations and inventory, maintaining health and safety protocols, and ensuring guest satisfaction through responsible alcohol service and professional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide consistent product and control costs.
- Coordinate food service with restaurant(s) for bar and lounge guests if applicable.
- Monitor guest behaviour and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service should cease.
- Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests.
- Check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
Bar Operations & Setup
- Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
- Perform pre- and post-shift work including emptying and filling ice-bins, preparing garnishments, replenishing and storing snacks.
- Requisition all necessary supplies in line with hotel procedures.
- Manage liquor inventory.
- Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.
Cash Handling & Payments
- Obtain, count and secure bartender's bank.
- Receive cash and credit payments from customers.
- Give accurate change and balance cash drawer at end of shift in line with hotel procedures.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Check bar and seating areas for cleanliness and attractiveness ensuring all standards are aligned to company and local legislative standards.
- Inspect all equipment and machinery for proper operation.
- Sweep and mop bar floor after shift.
- Wipe down counters, equipment, stools, chairs, tables, and other areas as required.
Guest Service & Problem Resolution
- Take action to solve guest problems and complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Use safe manual handling techniques and practice safe work habits following IHG Health, Safety and Environment policies.
- Wear protective clothing provided where necessary.
- Take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment.
- Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Immediately report any safety or service incident to the supervisor or manager on duty.
- Maintain procedures to minimize impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
- Report any health or safety hazards, faults, repairs, cleaning needs and accidents to your supervisor or the Manager on Duty and record on the appropriate Accident Report form immediately following accident.
- Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended.
- Report all broken or damaged departmental equipment to your supervisor and record on appropriate maintenance report form.
- Contribute to cost control through energy conservation, correct storage of all materials and use of equipment per operating standards and manufacturer's specifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Bartender in a hotel, restaurant, bar, or lounge.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hospitality or bartending certification is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage service standards, and responsible alcohol service.
- Good English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and guest-focused approach.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and inventory control.
