Role Purpose

Mix, serve, and manage beverages in a professional bar environment while delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining compliance with local alcohol laws, and ensuring a clean, organized bar operation.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Beverage Preparation

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes or customer preferences.
• Ensure drinks are served in proper glassware with appropriate garnishes.
• Maintain knowledge of drink recipes, new trends, and popular cocktails.
• Take drink and food orders from customers and serve them promptly.

Customer Engagement & Service

• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, engaging, and professional manner.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently and courteously.
• Participate in promotional activities and upsell drinks or special offers to customers.

Compliance & Responsible Service

• Check customer IDs to verify legal drinking age and comply with local alcohol laws.
• Ensure all beverages are served responsibly, in compliance with local laws regarding alcohol service.
• Refuse service to customers who appear intoxicated or disruptive.
• Follow health and safety protocols for food and beverage handling.

Operations & Inventory Management

• Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
• Restock supplies including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware, and ensure all inventory is properly maintained.
• Stock and clean glassware, equipment, and utensils.
• Help maintain cleanliness of the restaurant, bar area, and surrounding environment.

Cash & Payment Handling

• Monitor and manage bar tabs, collect payments, and issue change.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and tips accurately.
• Balance cash drawers at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies.

Additional Support

• Assist with bar setup and breakdown for special events or private parties.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in bartending or a related field preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
• Good communication and customer contact skills.
• Good problem resolution skills.
• Basic food and beverage product knowledge.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus on customer service.
• Additional language is an added advantage.
