Barista

Role Overview

Specialty Coffee Barista at RISE Enterprise. The Barista will craft exceptional coffee beverages, provide excellent customer service, and maintain the highest standards of quality and cleanliness in the coffee bar.

Role Purpose

Create unique and delicious specialty coffee drinks while delivering a memorable coffee experience to customers. The role combines technical brewing skill, product knowledge, and service excellence to represent the café's commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, pour-over coffee, and cold brew, using proper techniques and equipment.
• Develop strong coffee brewing skills, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.

Quality & Inventory Management

• Monitor the quality of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients, ensuring freshness and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain knowledge of coffee equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures.

Operations & Maintenance

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, ensuring all equipment is in working order and all supplies are stocked.
• Collaborate effectively with other baristas and coffee bar staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.

Knowledge & Development

• Stay up-to-date on the latest coffee trends and techniques, continuously expanding knowledge of specialty coffee.
• Understand coffee origins, roast levels, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a barista, preferably in a specialty coffee shop, is preferred but not required.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong coffee brewing skills, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Understanding of coffee origins, roast levels, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
