B2 Avionics Technician

Role Overview

B2 Avionics Technician at Airbus Defense and Space. This is a front-line mobile support role based in the Africa and Middle East (AME) region, delivering technical expertise to customer operations across heavy twin-engine helicopter fleets.

Role Purpose

Ensure the highest standards of safety and availability for heavy twin-engine helicopters operating in diverse and often challenging environments across Africa and the Middle East through expert technical maintenance, rapid field deployment, and customer partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Execution

• Perform scheduled (Base/Line) and unscheduled maintenance on H225, Caracal, and Super Puma families.
• Execute troubleshooting and defect rectification on assigned aircraft types.

Field Support

• Deploy on short-notice, punctual missions to customer sites across the Africa and Middle East region.
• Provide technical assistance and Aircraft On Ground (AOG) support.
• Deliver specialized repairs in remote and austere environments.

Compliance & Quality

• Certify all work performed in accordance with EASA Part 145 standards or equivalent local CAA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with company Quality Management Systems.
• Maintain a "Safety First" culture across all operations.
• Ensure all tooling, parts, and procedures meet rigorous aviation standards.

Customer Liaison

• Act as a technical ambassador to customer maintenance teams.
• Provide guidance and training to support operational continuity.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid EASA B2 License or equivalent.
• Current Type Ratings mandatory on H225 (EC225LP) and/or AS332 (L1, L2, C1).
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience on specified aircraft types.
• Proficiency in English (technical and spoken).
• French proficiency is a significant advantage for West African operations.
• Open for mobilization and deployment to Africa and Middle East countries for short-term missions.

• Resilience in high-pressure environments with ability to solve complex technical problems with limited local infrastructure.

• Independent working ability in remote or austere environments.
