Role Purpose
The Associate Professor will conduct cutting-edge research within biomedical sciences while contributing to academic excellence through teaching, mentorship, and active participation in the academic community. The role exists to advance the department's research mission and foster intellectual curiosity among students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Scholarship
- Conduct high-impact research in one of the department's focus areas: Healthy Aging, Reproductive Health, or Nutritional Medicine.
- Establish and maintain an active research program with demonstrated potential to attract external research funding.
- Maintain a strong publication record in top-tier journals.
- Develop expertise in fundamental or applied research within biomedical sciences.
Teaching & Student Development
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses aligned with departmental programs.
- Mentor and advise students at all levels.
- Foster intellectual curiosity and research excellence among students.
- Supervise students conducting research.
Academic Community
- Actively participate in the academic community.
- Engage in academic accreditation activities as applicable.
- Serve on conference committees and journal editorial boards.
- Contribute to professional services within the discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or related disciplines from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in biomedical or related research.
- Preference given to candidates with education from or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in fundamental or applied research.
- Strong publication track record in high-impact journals.
- Ability to attract external research funding.
- Strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Demonstrated research reputation or outstanding research potential.
